Former FCC Commissioner Gloria Tristani Interviewed on KDRT
Gloria Tristani, a former member of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and an internationally respected media reform advocate, is the guest this week on “ART+,” a weekly show airing on KDRT-LP, 101.5 FM in Davis. The segment airs Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m.

Tristani is interviewed by Jeff Shaw and Autumn Labbé-Renault of Davis Media Access, the local organization that operates DCTV public access channel 15 and KDRT. The interview touches on media consolidation, Low-power FM radio, the conversion to digital television, and the impacts of media violence on children.

In addition to her work with the FCC, Tristani previously served as the president of the Benton Foundation, where she oversaw the foundation’s work in educating policy-makers, academics and activists about their stakes in communications policy.  She currently works with the law firm of Spiegel & McDiarmid in Washington, D.C.

ART+ is produced by Davis resident Labiba Boyd. Other recent interviews include Utah Phillips; Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls,  Winston Smith and Margrit Mondavi. Audio links to all these shows are available at the ART+ website, www.artplusradio.org. ART+ is also podcast on iTunes and Podcast Alley.
