Former FCC Commissioner Gloria Tristani Interviewed on KDRT
Gloria Tristani, a former member of the Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) and an internationally respected media reform
advocate, is the guest this week on “ART+,” a weekly show airing on
KDRT-LP, 101.5 FM in Davis. The segment airs Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 1
p.m.
Tristani is interviewed by Jeff Shaw and Autumn Labbé-Renault of Davis
Media Access, the local organization that operates DCTV public access
channel 15 and KDRT. The interview touches on media consolidation,
Low-power FM radio, the conversion to digital television, and the
impacts of media violence on children.
In addition to her work with the FCC, Tristani previously served as the
president of the Benton Foundation, where she oversaw the foundation’s
work in educating policy-makers, academics and activists about their
stakes in communications policy. She currently works with the law
firm of Spiegel & McDiarmid in Washington, D.C.
