The Golden Road salutes the treasured memory of Big Jon Hunt and all the ruckus he caused along the road of life.

This edition of The Grapevine is dedicated to the memory of Big Jon Hunt.

Rod & CB teamed up to fill-in for the Doc...and interesting ride.

A return to the Motor City...Hitsville, USA...The "Snake Pit"...and the Motown label. Aside from some of the all-time hits from Motown, you will also hear a historical dialog of the Funk Brothers and their solid contributions to the "Sound of Young America".

The Golden Road opens up with a handful of tunes that are rooted in friendship and cultivation of fine things from the Earth, and then takes a nice, long journey through one of the best shows (and 2nd sets) of 1981.

While the good Dr. Strangly Strange is on the mend, the Magical Music Box is hosted by the unusual suspects...

The Grapevine honors the memory of the great Willie Mitchell, record producer extraordinaire. Willie created the solid sound that was found on the Hi record label. By setting up an in-house band as good as any, he set the tone of a place for artists like Ann Peebles and Al Green to make music that is still soothing the soul to this day. Enjoy!

This edition of The Golden Road goes on out to Dr. Strangely Strange.

The first Grapevine broadcast of the year (and decade) is kicked off with two of our favorites...Otis and Ray...and then heads for the Crescent City with the good Dr. John and some of the real roots musicians that performed & recorded in New Orleans during the late 1950's and 60's. Without a doubt, one of the true cradles of classic R & B, soul and roots rock n' roll.

A little slice of the the most fun that some KDRT DJ's can have on the air! The usual Grapevine hour was hijacked on New Years Eve...and was the ONLY hour of a 5 hour broadcast hosted by Rod Moseanko, Jim Buchanan and Dr. Strangely Strange that was actually recorded. We had a blast doing it...hope you enjoy hearing it...and let us know if this might be something you listeners want more of later on down the line!

The Golden Road airs some excellent highlights from two of the many NYE shows/wild evenings that the Grateful Dead (and Uncle Bill Graham!) ever staged in San Francisco.

Magical Music Box - Best of the Best of 2009: This has been a great year for psychedelic and progressive music releases and re-releases. This show is the tip of the iceberg as seen through the Doc's crystal spectacles. Exciting new California bands include The Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound, Ganglians (from Sacramento), Isis, and Sunn O))). From across the rest of the US and Europe are featured Florence and the Machine, Animal Collective, The Flaming Lips, Fuck Buttons, and Wilco. 2009 also saw remasters and re-releases from Genesis and Procol Harum, which are sampled here. Happy New Year!

The Grapevine is joined in the KDRT studio by Keith & Dorothy Sprouse for a look at some of the classic American vocalists & the beautiful song arrangements that were essential to the style. And as it is, "the season", you will also find a few holiday classics sprinkled in the mix.

"Winter rain, now tell me why, summers fade and roses die, the answer came...the wind & rain"

The Golden Road eases on into Winter with some sounds that feature the elements of the season.

"Darkness falls and seasons change, the same old friends...the wind and rain".
