His sound is original acoustic rock that sounds like Paul Simon meets Dave Matthews meets Talking Heads. His band also features vocal harmonies, guitar, electric violin, bass, drums, sometimes an alto sax, and a bit of live “looping.” Born and raised in Montreal, Adrian is an exciting performer. A gifted vocalist, he moves effortlessly between guitar & violin, sometimes using live looping to add layers of sound and intrigue to his songs. With a knack for language that's simple yet poetic, he's not afraid to tackle difficult topics in his songwriting. "Safe Streets" tells an allegory about police violence, "Close Your Eyes" laments the beauty bias that pervades the mass media, and "Senses" entreats you to appreciate your senses while you can. But Adrian doesn't take any of this stuff too seriously; his lyrics are infused with a sense of hope and a touch of whimsy. |

Broken Glass Live in Studio, Recorded on Dec 20th, 2019Fri, 12/20/2019 - 5:10pm | Pieter PastoorThis show was a blast and totally awesome - what a great way to end 2019. Broken Glass, formed in December 2018, are 8th-graders who practice in their drummer’s garage. Performing at small gigs and school events, the band started by playing cover songs, and was soon creating originals. They play a variety of genres, but most often stay within the wider rock style. The members are Alexander (keyboard/vocals/guitar), Alden (guitarist), Everett (bass), and Oscar (drums) See playlist for details of the songs that inspired the individual members. |

Anita and Jeff Boone and their two sons did something most of us dream about. Some years ago the family sat on their patio having a drink and talking about what kind of business would be fun for the whole family to get involved in. That led to Patio29 a spirits company in Winters, CA where the whole family is involved in creating whiskey and many other spirits from locally sourced grains and fruit. Jeff started as the distiller creating the magic of spirits but now his oldest son casts his spell on the process. In the charming tasting room a soft background of music relating to spirits is played, in fact the playlist is over 400 selections. We spent the hour talking shop and music so listen in. |

This program explores the music of Jesse Harris Originally from New York City, Jesse Harris is a Grammy Award winning songwriter, singer, guitarist and producer of artists from all over the world. He began making records in the mid 90s with Once Blue (EMI Records), his first group and first experience writing for another singer. Since then he has worked with dozens of artists and released 14 albums under his own name. His latest album, Aquarelle, recorded in Lisbon, was released in 2018. In 2003 Harris received the Grammy Award for Song Of The Year for Norah Jones’ breakout hit “Don’t Know Why,” from her debut album, Come Away With Me, which has sold over 20 million copies worldwide. It includes four other of his compositions: “Shoot The Moon,” “One Flight Down,” “I’ve Got To See You Again,” and “The Long Day Is Over.” He plays guitar throughout the recording. StnrKrew on Listening Lyrics - Hip Hop, Recorded Nov. 1, 2019Fri, 11/01/2019 - 5:10pm | Pieter PastoorThe Hip Hop group StnrKrew showed up a little late, but arrived at the 14:30 minute mark. It was a great hour and includes an original rap song performed live. StnrKrew Music is four artists who love hip hop and a variety of old rock 'n' roll type music, growing up in Las Vegas and different parts of California. DocSinister, JetLagg, MoonChild, and DaVinciiHendriXX have come together accompanied by good friend Dj Morfintime to recreate and reignite the fire in lyrical, punchline, battle rap-style BARs, putting rhythm and raw words together as one to exceed the level set by previous rap legends. With idols such as MacMiller, Tupac, Biggie, Eminem, and so sooooo much more, the bar is set very high! |

Additionally, I'll let you in on a secret, this was the first time that I listened to, not one, but two complete Rap songs -- and enjoyed them. :)
Loved the show and thoroughly enjoyed Cory. Tell him what Michael J Fox once said; "I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God's business." He was excellent.
