Winter 2005: Mics on a table to Tabletop Boom (s)!
Winter of 2005 saw KDRT rebuild our studio table. A big thanks goes to Jim Buchanan for his time and effort. Follow along as we put it together.
Jim Buchanan cuts the template out of cardboard for the table, 12/29/05 I believe...
Jim uses a circular saw to make large cuts in the 3/4"; plywood, a jigsaw for more precise cuts.
Jim examines the 1" x 1" that we'll mount to the wall studs as support for the table.
Jim notches the 1"x 1" support in the DCTV studio workspace.
Jim blesses the sacred plywood after it has been lovingly stained multiple times by both Jim and Ryan Gonzalez.

This picture shows the project we decided to make with leftover plywood- a new equipment rack to make better use of vertical space.
1/02/06- mounting the table to the 1 x 1 cleats mounted to the wall studs.
Jim delicately cuts the 4 x 4 that will serve as the sole table leg.
The 4 x 4 is mounted to another piece of plywood, which is then mounted to the underside of the table, for more support.
Jim looks satisfied with the level. No pens or pencils will be rolling off.
