Blues Benefit a Success!
Low Power Radio for the Community of Davis, California
Sat. Jan. 26 in Downtown Davis was filled with good
sounds and good cheer as the Winter Blues Benefit for KDRT kicked into
gear. Thanks to the Bill Scholer Blues Band and Special Guest Barry
“The Fish” Melton, the concert was a tremendous success. For photos
from the event, click on the poster to the left.
Special thanks to our generous sponsors: Abbey Road Press,
the Davis Odd Fellows, The Flatlander, and Gabe Lewin &
Clarity Sound. We’d also like to thank our contributors:
Armadillo Music, Ciocolat, Davis Food Co-op, Redwood Barn Nursery,
Rominger West Winery and Woodstock’s Pizza, whose generosity made
the event extra special.
Thanks also to Sally Parker for the beautiful poster design, Odd
Fellows Hall Facility Manager Glenn Mounkes & Odd Fellows Music
Committee chair Bob Bockwinkel, and to all who volunteered, attended,
etc. The music, refreshments, crowd and venue couldn’t have been
better!
Davis Media Access
(formerly DCTV) is the non-profit that developed KDRT as an open
platform for citizens of Davis. Help is now needed to keep the
station on the air. The cost of assistance from lawyers and
engineers is expensive, as are possible solutions like moving our
broadcast tower. We are asking for any amount you can donate, all
of which goes towards the cost of staying on the air.
If you cannot donate, read here about how else
you can help. We hope to see you at the concert!
