Electric Divine Compost Intervention Heap for May 17, 2024!

From Compost to seed to root to bloom to seed to compost...Hey, tonight on the Electric Compost Heap on KDRT 95.7FM, Dug Deep will be joined by his timeslotmate, Jess Goddèsse for a fundraiser-themed, combined version of their respective radio shows, sort of an Electric Divine Compost Intervention Heap, if you will.  Whatever it is, they will be doing it tonight so please join them and consider making a donation to community radio for Davis CA! Electric Compost Heap -- May 3, 2024

Tonight (Friday May 3) on the Electric Compost Heap on KDRT 95.7FM, we'll feature some new tunes from Pat Todd & The Rankoutsiders, Richard Thompson, and Kid Congo and The Pink Monkey Birds! We'll also spin a number from the Sam Chase and the Untraditional, who will be appearing at Sudwerk Brewing Co. tomorrow evening (May 4) courtesy of the Davis Live Music Collective. Tonight (April 19) in the Electric Compost Heap at 6 p.m. Pacific time, host Dug Deep will feature tunes from a few bands playing at this year's Davis Music Festival -- the schedule was just released and it has us pretty jacked up! I mean, just look at this lineup! Oh, and the official color of tonight's show is chartreuse! Yes indeed, hope you can tune in at KDRT.org.

Electric Compost Heap for April 5, 2024

Tonight at 6 p.m. on the Electric Compost Heap, host Dug Deep will feature songs from bands who will be making their way to our region in the near future, including Fantastic Negrito, The Darts, and Sideline, a veteran bluegrass band who will be appearing Friday, April 12 at Sudwerk Brewing Co.!  We'll also spin a couple of songs from the new album by The Bevis Frond, Focus on Nature. Oh, and the official color of tonight's show is GREY!

Tonight at 6pm pst, the Electric Compost Heap celebrates the impending green explosion we refer to as Spring! We'll feature music from a slew of artists who are headed our way soon, including, Lael Neale at Davis Odd Fellows Hall on March a7 (thanks Davis Live Music Collective ), Reverend Horton Heat and Dale Watson at Harlow's on March 18, and @Mike Clark and the Sugar Sounds , who will be at Sudwerk Brewing Co. . on March 23rd! Lots of other musical compostables as well, and the official color of tonight's show is Green!

March 7, 2024 -- Dug Deep interviews 'Open Country' filmmakers Jesse and Glenda Drew

Local filmmakers Glenda and Jesse Drew join Dug Deep in the KDRT studio to discuss their film Open Country, a documentary about the history and politics of country music. It features interviews with Billy Bragg, Hazel Dickens, Jon Langford and Pete Seeger, to name just a few. The movie will be screened at Odd Fellows Hall, 2nd and D streets in downtown Davis, on Sunday, March 10 at 6 p.m. This screening is a benefit for KDRT with tickets available here.
